At CommentOne, we take your privacy very seriously. This privacy policy describes what data we collect, how it is processed, and your control over it.

1. Data Collection and Usage

CommentOne is a productivity extension designed to generate context-specific LinkedIn comments. To provide this service, the extension processes the following data:

Post Context: When you click the "Generate Comment" button, the extension reads the text content, images, or carousels of the specific LinkedIn post you are viewing. This data is processed temporarily to generate the comment and is not stored permanently.
User Preferences: Settings such as selected tone, language, and comment length are stored locally on your device via chrome.storage.local. We do not sync these to external servers.
Account Details: When you log in, your email and authentication token are secured through Supabase Auth to manage your subscription status.

2. Third-Party Services

To generate comments, post data is securely transmitted via encrypted API to our processing pipeline. No personal profile data, cookies, or credentials are shared. The model only receives the text and image content of the post to analyze.

3. Security

We use industry-standard encryption to protect your credentials and transaction tokens. All API communications are performed securely via HTTPS protocols.

4. Your Controls

You can clear your cached account details or preferences at any time by signing out from the extension popup or removing the extension from your Google Chrome browser.

5. Device Fingerprinting

To prevent abuse of the free tier and enforce one-account-per-device limits, CommentOne collects a device fingerprint using the open-source FingerprintJS library. This fingerprint is a hash generated from browser and hardware attributes (such as canvas rendering, installed fonts, and screen resolution). It does not contain personal information and cannot be used to identify you individually. The fingerprint is stored on our server alongside your account ID solely for usage enforcement purposes.
